{"id":12,"date":"2008-07-04T09:02:53","date_gmt":"2008-07-04T14:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coherentpdf.com\/blog\/?p=12"},"modified":"2008-07-04T12:37:18","modified_gmt":"2008-07-04T17:37:18","slug":"compiling-code-under-ocaml-and-f-part-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coherentpdf.com\/blog\/?p=12","title":{"rendered":"Compiling Code Under OCaml and F# (Part Two)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/coherentpdf.com\/blog\/?p=10\">[Part One]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Twenty thousand lines of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coherentpdf.com\/ocaml-libraries.html\">CamlPDF<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coherentpdf.com\/\">cpdf<\/a> later, here are some numbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Occasions on which conditional compilation is required: 22<\/li>\n<li> Compilation warnings with fsc &#8211;no-warn 62: 15<\/li>\n<li> Time taken: 22 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The current executable appears to be about 8 times slower than OCaml native compilation, but I haven&#8217;t examined this enough to know how much we might be able to improve upon it.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m planning to clean up the code to see how much of the conditional compilation we can get into a single Utility module.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s next is to repackage the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coherentpdf.com\/\">command line tools<\/a> as an API for .NET users.
